As your Chief Residents, we are honored to share what makes our program truly special and why we believe it is the ideal environment to grow into a confident, compassionate, and well-trained internist.
Our program’s mission is simple but powerful: to train empathetic, capable physicians who are prepared to manage even the most complex patients. This begins with a thoughtfully designed curriculum rooted in the most up-to-date, evidence-based clinical guidelines. Our residents learn not only through traditional lectures, but through hands-on experience in our cutting-edge simulation center—giving you the tools to build both knowledge and technical proficiency in a safe and supportive environment.
Our program also strongly emphasizes individualized learning and mentorship. From your first weeks here, you’ll have the opportunity to meet one-on-one with faculty mentors to map out your career goals, whether that’s fellowship, hospital medicine, primary care, or academic medicine. Your training experiences will then be tailored to help you reach those goals, with support from the Methodist Clinical Research Institute for those pursuing scholarly projects or publications.
Board success is also a priority, and our program invests in your preparation. Residents receive multiple question banks, an annual education allowance, and a fully funded board review course during their senior year—all at no cost to you.
Perhaps most importantly, our culture is one of camaraderie, wellness, and genuine support. We hold regular resident retreats, offer daily lunches during noon conference, and foster an environment where it’s easy to find mentorship, friendship, and balance. Residency is a demanding time, but at Methodist, we believe it can also be one of the most rewarding chapters of your life—with the right people around you.
We are incredibly proud of the culture, training, and community we’ve built here, and we’re excited to share it with you. We truly believe Methodist Dallas is a place where you can thrive—personally and professionally.
Thank you again for considering our program. We wish you the best of luck in this exciting phase of your journey, and we are always here to answer any questions you may have.
