Dallas County Hospital Residencies

Methodist’s Commitment to Graduate Medical Education

A medical residency program is the next step in your medical education following your graduation and internship. During a residency, you receive on-hands experience practicing medicine under the supervision of a more seasoned professional. It is, in essence, your chance to begin your medical career in earnest while receiving detailed instruction to help you avoid common mistakes and learn new skills. Following residency, many physicians enroll in a fellowship program.

Methodist offers four residency education programs:

At Methodist Dallas Medical Center

At Methodist Charlton Medical Center

We invite you to consider completion of your residency or fellowship training at Methodist, and to experience the vibrancy of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex as well. Our current trainees enjoy the benefits of high quality medical education combined with day-to-day life in one of our country’s most exciting and dynamic cities.

Texas law prohibits hospitals from practicing medicine. The physicians on the Methodist Health System medical staff are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Methodist Health System, or any of its affiliated hospitals.
