Why Methodist Dallas: Methodist being a hybrid training environment (academic and community) was appealing for my continued training and growth due to the great learning environment and diverse pathology seen here. Also, it was important to come to a program that has multiple fellowships with research opportunities to further expand my learning and interests in a subspecialty. Lastly, moving to a large city like Dallas with plenty of entertainment, amusement and beautiful weather will make it easier to enjoy life outside of work.

Why Methodist Dallas: Enjoyed my interview, especially with the faculty members and meeting the current residents. Interesting balance between community and university aspects. Highlights included emphasis on training to perform procedures, recently built simulation center, variety of rotations/pathology. Have heard many good things about Dallas as a city. Also really cool to see how the program has been continually evolving with new investments and listens to feedback from residents.

Having just two core hospitals to rotate through allows one to be more familiar with the hospital staff and systems, allowing you to work better with them.

The resident team was intelligent, personable, and genuinely happy with their program. The director and faculty were fully supportive of my career interests through offerings of personalized opportunities. The hospital spares no expense or detail for its physicians as it views us as an investment for the future of medicine. This is a great city and an even better program.

I loved that they have full-time faculty dedicated to our learning, a wonderful patient population and hospital, and I enjoyed that we also go to the VA and do ambulatory at the Golden Cross clinic! The free lunch is a nice touch as well.
