  • Complete joint replacement support: We offer our patients access to theMethodist Joint Academy, a virtual education platform designed to improve outcomes of joint replacement surgery. It helps patients prepare for the procedure, know what to expect, and thrive following surgery.
  • Dedicated program for older patients: Our G60 Geriatric Trauma Program is designed to address the unique needs of patients over age 60. We understand the importance of treating our older patients in a timely manner and streamlining the surgical intervention process, if necessary. We offer prioritized scheduling, specially trained staff, and an enhanced focus on safety. We were one of the first medical centers in the nation to offer this program.
  • Minimally invasive joint replacements: The team of orthopedic specialists at Methodist Dallas uses the Mako robot for knee replacements. This technology enables us to replace joints through smaller incisions, so there is less recovery time and a lower risk of complications.

Orthopedic Conditions We Treat

We have experience helping people with a wide range of injuries and conditions affecting the knees and hips; shoulders, elbows, and wrists; and ankles and feet. These issues can cause pain and stiffness and limit your mobility.

Our expertise includes:

  • Arthritis and other chronic orthopedic conditions
  • Dislocations, tears and fractures (broken bones)
  • Hip and joint pain
  • Orthopedic trauma
  • Sprains, strains, and injuries affecting the muscles, tendons, ligaments, and other soft tissues
  • Sports injuries, including shoulder pain, wrist injuries, and problems with the feet and ankles

Orthopedic Treatments We Offer

As leaders in orthopedic care, we provide nonsurgical options and surgical treatments. Our team customizes a treatment plan just for you based on several factors, including your health, lifestyle, and goals.

We may recommend a cast, brace, or splint to treat injuries like sprains and fractures. If surgical repair is necessary, we specialize in procedures to help treat injuries that result from accidents and overuse.

Orthopedic surgeons at Methodist Dallas are also skilled at minimally invasive hip replacement and knee replacement procedures. If you need a joint replacement, you can expect consistent care and comprehensive support to help you heal following the procedure.

Robotic-assisted, minimally invasive joint replacement surgery

Orthopedic surgeons at Methodist Dallas have specialized experience performing joint replacements with robotic-assisted techniques. We use the Mako SmartRobotics™ surgical system for knee and hip replacement procedures.

During a robotic-assisted procedure, the surgeon controls tiny surgical tools using a robot. The robot enables the surgeon to be more precise.

With this advanced technology, surgeons replace hip and knee joints through smaller incisions than standard joint replacement procedures. We also use the Mako system to plan surgical procedures, so they are more accurate. These techniques have a lower risk of complications, involve less pain, and typically require a shorter recovery period.
