Methodist hospitals earn top marks for safety from Leapfrog

DALLAS — Methodist Health System is proud to announce that Methodist Dallas, Methodist Richardson, Methodist Mansfield, and Methodist Midlothian Medical Centers have each earned “A” safety grades for spring 2025 from The Leapfrog Group, the highest rating possible from the independent hospital watchdog.

In addition, two Methodist hospitals have earned "straight A" status, a highly coveted distinction that stretches back three years for Methodist Midlothian and an entire decade for Methodist Dallas, the system's flagship hospital.

“A devotion to patient safety is front and center at Methodist. Nothing is more important to our hospitals' staff, top to bottom,” said Pam Stoyanoff, MBA, CPA, FACHE, President and Chief Operating Officer, Methodist Health System. “But the commitment to keeping patients safe that our flagship hospital has shown for 10 years running sets the tone for our entire system. We could not be prouder of our straight 'A' grades.”

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system.

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Methodist Health System, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
