Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is collaborating with teenage mothers, their support team, and their schools to provide perinatal education and support during their pregnancy. Mentoring Teen Moms (MTM) is sensitive to their learning style and situation. Education is provided by experienced obstetric nurses in a fun and supportive environment.

Our education will provide audio, visual, and hands-on learning to engage our new mothers, as well has educational materials to take home.

Pregnancy Zoom Session (free)
It is our mission to ensure you feel supported and knowledgeable going into your pregnancy. Via Zoom, MTM will provide a 30 min pregnancy video & provide important steps to follow during this time, as well as an opportunity to ask questions with an experienced OB nurse. Topics we will cover:

• Pregnancy education
• Choosing a pediatrician
• Choosing support system
• Getting a breast pump

Childbirth Preparation Class ($15)
Surrounded by experienced obstetric RNs, your interactive classes will provide a wealth of knowledge to best prepare you in bringing your new baby home! Includes educational materials. Topics we will cover:

• Labor and delivery
• Postpartum
• Baby care
• Breastfeeding
• Infant CPR
• Hospital tour

Registration is $15 and includes the teen mother and 2 support persons. Light refreshments will be provided.
