Methodist Health System Earns ‘A’ Grades for Patient Safety

Leapfrog Survey Awards Top Marks to Methodist Dallas, Methodist Richardson, and Methodist Midlothian

Methodist Health System is proud to announce that Methodist Dallas, Methodist Richardson, and Methodist Midlothian Medical Centers have each earned “A” safety grades from The Leapfrog Group, the highest rating possible from the independent hospital watchdog.

While Methodist Dallas and Methodist Richardson have consistently earned top scores over the years, this is the first time Methodist Midlothian qualified for the safety rating since opening its doors in November 2020 and earned top marks on its very first survey.

“Methodist’s commitment to patient safety remains constant, and it’s gratifying to see those efforts recognized,” says Pam Stoyanoff, MBA, CPA, FACHE, President and Chief Operating Officer, Methodist Health System. “We are proud of each ‘A’ we earned this spring, but we’re especially thrilled for Methodist Midlothian, our newest hospital.”

The Hospital Safety Grade is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system. Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses over 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign grades to approximately 3,000 U.S. hospitals twice per year. It is peer reviewed, fully transparent, and free to the public.
