The Impaired Professional Recovery Program at Methodist Richardson Medical Center is an addiction dependency recovery outpatient program specifically designed for working professionals struggling with drug or alcohol addiction. Structured group counseling and skills training

  • Education and skills training for the maintenance of compliance and sobriety
  • Education and skills training for relapse prevention
  • Clean and sober living skills
  • Weekly session for the family, significant others, and/or supportive friends are offered as an ongoing part of the curriculum

The program is designed to promote recovery in the least restrictive environment. The full program consists of 24 to 30 three-hour sessions and is offered in the evening to meet patients' scheduling needs. An important part of recovery for the addicted individual is a supportive, structured and goal-directed environment.

This treatment program is designed to develop competencies and skills to maintain the integrity of clean and sober living. Our treatment procedures do not duplicate the services offered by Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous 12-Step Programs. Participants in our program are required to attend AA/NA a minimum of three times per week on alternate days when not in treatment. Clients must also secure a working sponsor by the eighth client session in order to continue in the program.

The Impaired Professional Recovery Program is an adult honesty-based system and does not administer chemical screens. Participants who are required by any monitoring entities to have screenings done must take individual responsibility to secure such through an independent lab or physician of their choice.
