About Frank Johnston, MD

Frank Johnston, MD, is a fellowship-trained vascular surgeon at Methodist Vascular Specialists, which he joined in 2024. He offers expert, compassionate care for patients with artery and vein conditions. His specialties include aortic aneurysms, aortic dissections, deep vein thrombosis, dialysis access, peripheral arterial disease, and venous disease.

Dr. Johnston keeps his practice patient-focused, treating patients like he would his own family. He chose vascular surgery as his specialty because he felt drawn to the people who needed vascular surgeries. He found he particularly enjoyed working with them toward better health.

Several of Dr. Johnston’s family members are surgeons, inspiring him to go into medicine. A lecture he attended on ascending aortic aneurysm repairs solidified his decision. The lecture illustrated the impact vascular surgery can have on the patients who need them, and he was enthralled.

When he isn’t meeting with patients or performing surgery, Dr. Johnston enjoys spending time with his family. He also takes time for hobbies, including weightlifting, restoring classic cars, and listening to music.
