About Ahmed M. Abubaker, MD
Ahmed Abubaker, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine and infectious disease physician with over 13 years of clinical experience. He specializes in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of infections, including bacterial, fungal, viral, and parasitic diseases. Dr. Abubaker also focuses on preventing the spread of these infections through evidence-based infection control and antimicrobial stewardship practices.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Abubaker has spent the past 8 years in academic medicine, serving as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at East Carolina University and Michigan State University, where he was actively involved in teaching, research, and mentoring.
He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from the University of Kassala in Sudan. He completed his internal medicine residency at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, New York, followed by fellowship training in infectious disease at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
Originally from Kassala, Sudan, Dr. Abubaker is excited to begin practicing in North Texas. Outside of medicine, he enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his wife and children.
