Emergency care is an integral component of Methodist Mansfield's mission to provide for our community's health. Methodist Mansfield Medical Center has launched full-service trauma capabilities. This enhancement ensures that trauma surgeons are available 24/7, allowing citizens to receive critical care close to home. With these advanced services, residents will only need to seek care outside the community for serious burns, organ transplants, and advanced pediatric care.

All care provided in the emergency room is performed by or under the supervision and guidance of independently practicing physicians on the medical staff at Methodist Mansfield. Assisting with the care provided by the independently practicing physicians are:

  • Registered nurses
  • Paramedics
  • Respiratory therapists
  • Technicians
  • Licensed Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners
  • Chaplains

Walk-In entrance and drive-up access to emergency care

The emergency room at Methodist Mansfield has a separate walk-in entrance and separate waiting area to maintain privacy and help control infection. Drive-up access is available for emergency patients arriving in their own vehicle or being brought in by a family member or someone else. Please do not attempt to follow ambulances to the hospital. This is dangerous for you and the community. When you arrive park in front of the main Emergency Department entrance, not the ambulance entrance. The front desk will help reunite you with your loved one.

Prepared for every kind of medical emergency

The Methodist Mansfield emergency room is equipped with:

  • Crash carts, airway carts, and procedural trays in private emergency treatment rooms, providing the optimum level of emergency care to save lives.
  • Large cardiac resuscitation rooms equipped to handle life-threatening emergencies, such as major trauma, full cardiac arrest and heart attacks.
  • A general radiography room allowing for quick access to diagnostic studies for timely results. A CT scanner is located in the Emergency Department.
  • Rapid access to ICU, CT/MRI, and other critical diagnostics as warranted by the patient's condition.
  • Interventional cardiology services around the clock to handle patients experiencing cardiac symptoms or having a heart attack.
  • A cardiac Cath lab and surgery suites for heart and cardiopulmonary services.
  • 24/7 Interventional Radiology services for emergency neurologic care.

Emergency treatment rooms have:

  • Private walls and special equipment for optimum visibility.
  • Most equipment conveniently located in the room for quick setup.
  • Easy access to hallway bathrooms.
  • Isolation-negative pressure rooms designed with special airflow ducts to control or isolate airborne infections.

The emergency department at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is among 94 nationwide and only three in Dallas-Fort Worth to receive the 2024 Lantern Award, an accolade granted by the Emergency Nurses Association. QuickER is intended only for individuals with non-life threatening or non-debilitating medical conditions.

This online scheduling service estimates treatment times based on current patient volumes and allows users to wait from the comfort of their home, rather than the ER Waiting Room. Users do not skip the ER wait, or move ahead of individual in the ER Waiting Room. Users are placed in a queue, and given a projected treatment time. In the event that the projected treatment time is delayed, due to individuals with emergent conditions presenting to the ER, QuickER Users are sent real-time notifications via a phone call and email so they can continue waiting at home.
