Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery Options:
Gastric Bypass and Gastric Sleeve

If you're morbidly obese and other treatments — including diet, exercise, and medication — haven't worked for you, you may be a candidate for bariatric surgery or obesity surgery.

The Methodist Weight Management Program offers several minimally invasive laparoscopic weight-loss surgeries for patients with a BMI of 40 or higher or a BMI of 35 with weight-related conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, sleep apnea, or joint pain. Most patients are candidates for laparoscopic surgery.
