Robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery
The skilled team of gynecological surgeons at Methodist Celina performs minimally invasive procedures to treat uterine fibroids, vaginal prolapse, and ovarian cysts. We have advanced training in robotic-assisted surgery techniques using the da Vinci® Robotic Surgery System.
During robotic-assisted minimally invasive surgery, surgeons use a robot to control tiny surgical instruments. This technology allows us to make procedures more precise while reducing the risk of complications. Minimally invasive techniques require smaller incisions and lead to less recovery time than traditional (open) surgery. Our robotic-assisted surgeries include:
- Hysterectomy (uterus removal)
- Myomectomy (to treat uterine fibroids)
- Oophorectomy (ovary removal)
- Sacrocolpopexy (to treat vaginal vault prolapse)
