Why Methodist Dallas: I rotated at MDMC during my fourth year and really enjoyed working with the residents and attendings here. Being close to my hometown this institution holds a special in my heart. Having spoken with the Program Director, faculty, and residents at the interview, I was convinced that MDMC will provide me with the ideal education to become a competent physician.

Why Methodist Dallas: I rotated here during medical school, and this is where I fell in love with internal medicine and really bolstered my knowledge of medicine. The small class lets you get to know your co-residents very well and allows plenty of opportunities for yourself in your career. Also, being close to where I went to med school and having a solid foundation of friends and community made Methodist a perfect choice for me.

Additionally, the city of Dallas offers a variety of activities and a welcoming energy, making it an ideal place to train and live!

Why Methodist Dallas: The hybrid nature (community-academic) of the program was what initially attracted me to the program. Ultimately, the camaraderie within the faculty was what made me decide on Methodist. The faculty and residents were down-to-earth, and the environment felt very supportive. As someone who is interested in Global health and Nephrology, Methodist was going to be a space that also allowed me to nurture/explore that interest. Additionally, the location was a plus!

Rotating, as a student here, was my first exposure to inpatient internal medicine, and it was immediately clear that it was a supportive, collaborative, and enriching learning environment. The additional bonuses of interesting pathology presentations, opportunities for research, procedures, and fellowship, and incredible support staff, along with being near family/friend,s made Methodist Dallas my ideal choice for residency training.

Why Methodist Dallas: Methodist Dallas was the first hospital that made me fall in love with the practice and process of internal medicine. The residents, attendings, consulting services, PAs and NPs, nurses, pharmacists, techs, and staff all work hard to make everyone feel welcome, and I have frequently told others I have never been to a hospital where everyone is consistently so happy. Combined with the small resident class size, available fellowships, a combination of caring for underserved patients in an academic medicine setting, urban location, and opportunities for procedural and ultrasound mastery, Methodist Dallas is my ideal place to train for residency.
