New name, same trusted care
For more than 50 years, Methodist Charlton Medical Center proudly served Southwest Dallas County with compassionate, quality healthcare. On August 1, 2026, we will become Methodist Southwest Medical Center- a new name that reflects our continued investment in the health and wellbeing of the communities we serve. While our name has changed, our commitment to providing outstanding care remains the same.
Methodist Southwest is home to the only Level III Trauma Center in the region, featuring a new 70-bed emergency room designed to delivery expert care when every second matters. We also offer the region’s only Heart Failure Clinic, along with a new oncology unit and a renovated labor and delivery unit to better serve patients and families through every stage of life. Our dedication to clinical quality is reflected in our Magnet® designation for nursing excellence, an honor earned by fewer than 9% of hospitals nationwide.
