Thank you for choosing Methodist Southlake Medical Center. Our goal is to make you as comfortable as possible during your time with us, and that starts with knowing what to expect.
Whether you’re coming to Methodist Southlake for surgery, diagnostic testing or another procedure, a pre-admission consultation is vital to ensuring your visit goes as smoothly as possible. For the safety of all patients and visitors, building access is limited to the main entrance and the Emergency Department.
A staff member will greet you and ask questions about your general health. To protect yourself and others, this screening is mandatory for everyone coming into the facility.
Visitors are limited to one person per patient per 24 hours. Visitors under the age of 14 are not permitted in patient rooms.
Prior to Your Procedure
At Methodist Southlake two appointments will be set to help prepare you
for your procedure: a pre-admission consultation and the procedure itself.
Ideally, these two appointments are set several days apart to allow for
any additional consultation or testing that may be required.
Pre-admission Consultation
Your pre-admission consultation allows our team the opportunity to gather
important information about your medical and surgical history. Our goal
is to provide a safe and comfortable procedure, reduce possible complications
and eliminate the need for readmission.
What to Expect
During your consultation, we will provide important instructions on how
to prepare for your surgery or procedure. Depending on your procedure,
we may also require a complete history and physical, plus any diagnostic
