Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapy Services

The team at Methodist Richardson Medical Center’s Outpatient Therapy Center enhances quality of life through compassionate care. With a breadth of experience, therapists build personal relationships with patients, referring physicians, and healthcare partners to meet a full variety of community needs.

What sets us apart? Our close- knit team of licensed Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists provide patients with individual, hands on care. The people we serve are never double booked or treated by therapy assistants or aides.

Highlights of our program include:

  • Advanced orthopedic care: Specializing in orthopedic care for hip and knee replacements, back and neck pain, and spine surgeries, the team is equipped to handle a variety of needs. We are aligned with Methodist Richardson Medical Center’s The Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval Gold Seal® certification for total hip and total knee replacements, which highlights our commitment to providing current, research-based care to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Specialized cancer rehabilitation program: Our team works collaboratively to manage the effects of cancer treatments.
    • Our Certified Lymphedema Therapists (CLTs) work to prevent and treat chronic lymphedema.
    • Our Speech-Language Pathologists have extensive experience treating dysphagia, speech, and voice disorders resulting from head and neck cancer.
    • Our Occupational and Physical Therapists see patients to manage fatigue and minimize the deconditioning that often accompanies chemotherapy or radiation. In close collaboration with your oncology care team, we listen to your goals and needs, ensuring that you receive the appropriate level of care at the frequency you require, when you need it.
  • Experienced neurological care team: As a proud Comprehensive Stroke Center, Methodist Richardson Medical Center meets the highest standards for stroke rehabilitation.
    • Our experienced neurological-specialized therapy team helps you achieve your individualized goals for strength, mobility, and activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, eating, communicating, and returning to work.
    • We hold a monthly Stroke Support Group that is free and open to stroke survivors and their friends and families. These meetings include guest speakers from the community, such as dietitians, neurologists, therapists, nurses, and attorneys.
