  • Endometriosis: This disorder occurs when tissue resembling what’s found inside the uterus grows outside the uterus.
  • Gynecological cancer: This group of cancers affects the female reproductive organs, including the cervix, ovaries, uterus, and vagina.

Robotic-Assisted Gynecologic Surgery

At Methodist Richardson, we use the da Vinci® Surgical System to perform more precise operations using smaller incisions, compared to traditional open techniques. Gynecological surgeons use minimally invasive techniques to treat a several conditions, including cancer, endometriosis, fibroids, and pelvic organ prolapse.

We use robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgery to perform:

  • Hysterectomy (removal of the uterus)
  • Myomectomy (removal of fibroids or noncancerous growths in the uterus)
  • Oophorectomy (removal of one or both ovaries)
  • Sacrocolpoplexy (restoration of the normal position of the pelvic organs)

We help you understand your risk of developing breast cancer. When you visit our clinic, we identify your risk factors and determine how likely you might be to develop breast cancer. Then, we partner with you to closely monitor your breast health.
