Richardson, Mansfield also earn A grades from The Leapfrog Group

DALLAS — For the first time ever, Methodist Southlake Medical Center earned an "A" safety grade from The Leapfrog Group, joining Methodist Richardson and Methodist Mansfield in achieving the highest rating possible from the independent hospital watchdog.

Leapfrog found that all three hospitals excelled at improving outcomes and protecting patients from harm. The proof is in a biannual survey that takes 22 evidence-based measures into account.

"We strive to ensure the highest standard of patient safety at every hospital across Methodist,” said President and Chief Operating Officer Pam Stoyanoff, MBA, CPA, FACHE. “We are especially proud to celebrate this achievement with the staff at Methodist Southlake, who earned the first of what we expect to be many A's to come."

The staff at Methodist Southlake has worked tirelessly to provide compassionate, quality care since joining Methodist as a wholly owned hospital in 2021. It's a high water mark that validates the devotion of every employee, clinical or otherwise.

"Achieving our first Leapfrog ‘A’ Safety Grade is a moment of deep pride for every one of us," said Methodist Southlake President Benson Chacko, FACHE. "It’s more than a letter — it’s a reflection of the dedication, compassion, and relentless pursuit of excellence that our employees bring to Methodist Southlake every day."

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system.

“Achieving an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade reflects enormous dedication to patient safety,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “I extend my congratulations to Methodist Health System, its leadership, clinicians, staff and volunteers for creating a culture where patients come first.”
