Library services for physicians, residents and staff affiliated with Methodist
Health System

The library is located in the
Charles C. Tandy, M.D. Learning Resource Center for Graduate Medical Education on the 5th floor in the east building of the Methodist Dallas campus. The
library is a vital part of corporate services, providing literature searches
and access to quality, evidence-based medical information to affiliated
staff, physicians, and residents.

The library provides access to the following resources:

• CINAHL with Full Text (Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) – a comprehensive source of full text articles from more than 600
  nursing and allied health journals
• eMedicine Medscape – provides timely, comprehensive and relevant clinical information
  to improve patient care
• Exam Master – test preparation tool for USMLE and Board Exams for resident physicians
• FirstConsult – web-based clinical decision support resource similar to UpToDate
  and linked with MDConsult
• GIDEON (Global Infectious Disease and Epidemiology Network) – provides current, evidence-based resources for the diagnosis, treatment
  and teaching in the fields of tropical and infectious diseases, epidemiology
  and microbiology in all countries
• JBI COnNECT – the Joanna Briggs Institute of Australia’s online network
  of “best practice” protocols for nurses
• MDConsult – includes medical books, journals, clinics, drug information and
  images together in one resource to help physicians efficiently find answers
  to pressing clinical questions
• Medical Journals Online (Full Text) – Ebsco's A to Z list provides full text articles from over 2800
  Medical and Health Sciences scholarly journals
• Print Journal and Book Collection – specialty journals, textbooks, study guides, and more
• Procedures Consult – provides physicians complete details on how to prepare for, perform and
  follow up on the most common clinical procedures required in the hospital setting
• PubMed MEDLINE – the National Library of Medicine’s database of medical literature
• UpToDate – America's leading clinical question and answer tool for physicians;
  accessible via the Library website or the EMR
