At this hands-on and interactive workshop, participants will learn the skills to appropriately evaluate and manage acute athletic injuries on the field or court. Attendees will participate in a curriculum that promotes musculoskeletal medicine concepts, concussion management and management of head and neck injuries.
CEU credits for certified athletic trainers will be offered to those completing the course.
At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will learn how to appropriately evaluate and manage the following:
- Acute spine injury (spine boarding with and without equipment removal)
- Acute fracture and/or dislocation
- Suspected concussion/head injury
- Airway management of an athlete in distress
- Acute cardiac event (CPR and AED use)
With more than 41 million young athletes in competitive sports and more than 50 percent of them sustaining an injury each year, the ability to access an injury quickly and effectively while triaging appropriately is vital. Come join us for a fun and informative event!
