Serving Southern Dallas County for More Than 50 Years

Methodist Southwest Medical Center is part of Methodist Health System, one of North Texas’ oldest nonprofit health systems. Methodist Health System opened this facility as Charlton Methodist Hospital in 1973 to serve the growing communities of Southern Dallas County.

The Methodist Health System Board of Directors was determined to grow a strong healthcare provider in this area, and initiated a $100 million dollar building program. As a result Methodist Southwest Dallas Medical Center continues to grow alongside the communities it has served for so long.

Where We Are Today

Today Methodist Health System's service areas cover a population of well over one million people. We believe that the innovation, dedication, and vision that have helped us thrive over the past decades will help ensure our strength well into the future.
