The Methodist Charlton Diagnostic Sleep Center recently opened to diagnose and treat sleep disorders in adults and children.

A sleep specialist will monitor the patient’s breathing, brain waves, heart rhythm, oxygen levels, and body movements. A credentialed registered polysomnographic technologist will score the study promptly, then forward it to the physician. The information from the study will enable doctors to interpret the patient's quality of sleep and identify any problems.

The Sleep Disorders Center at Methodist Richardson Medical Center provides patients with diagnosis and treatment for many sleep disorders, including:

  • Sleep disorder breathing
  • Obstructive sleep apnea
  • Narcolepsy
  • Periodic limb movements (restless leg syndrome)
  • Upper airway resistant syndrome

Patients must be referred to the Sleep Disorders Center by a physician in order to undergo a sleep study or treatment. Please print out the referral form linked here and take it with you to your next physician’s appointment. Completed forms can be faxed to (469) 204-0273. If you are a physician referring a patient, please use the same form.
