About Les Cler, MD, FACP, CPE
Les Cler, MD, FACP, CPE, is a board-certified internal medicine doctor at Methodist Family Health Center - Colleyville. Dr. Cler provides comprehensive adult primary care, specializing in preventive care and treating complex and chronic diseases. He focuses on building long-term relationships with patients, treating them as a whole person rather than a collection of symptoms.
Dr. Cler joined Methodist Health System in 2010. He has served as chief medical officer at Methodist Dallas Medical Center and as utilization medical director for Methodist Health. In addition to seeing patients, he helps train the next generation of medical professionals. He serves as student clerkship director and core faculty member for internal medicine residents at Methodist Dallas. He also teaches at three medical schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Advising and advocating for patients is Dr. Cler’s guiding principle. He gets to know patients, focusing on understanding their goals and lifestyles. He creates care plans with them using the best evidence and expertise available. He values connecting with patients and being a source of understanding and support.
Dr. Cler has been actively involved in academic and administrative leadership roles throughout his years at Methodist Health. He has served on numerous committees dedicated to improving patient care and hospital processes, including subjects such as critical care, therapeutic and pharmaceutical care, innovative technology, physician wellness, palliative care, and sepsis.
Research remains an important part of Dr. Cler’s work. He has published in several peer-reviewed medical journals, including International Cardiovascular Forum Journal, Journal of Community Hospital Internal Medicine Perspectives, and Pancreas. He also presents at research and professional meetings and conferences around the country. Dr. Cler is a fellow of the American College of Physicians.
Practicing medicine is both a professional and personal interest for Dr. Cler. Outside of the office, he enjoys being outdoors, cycling, running, gardening, playing guitar, and spending time with his family.
