About Joshua K. Trussell, MD
Dr. Joshua Trussell, MD, is a minimally invasive general surgeon who specializes in repairing complex hernias using the world renowned Da Vinci Robot. The proud Mansfield native graduated Magna Cum Lade from the University of Texas at Arlington, and went on to attend medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center - Houston School of Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Trussell completed his Surgical Residency at the Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix Arizona. Certified by the Fellow American College of Surgeons, Dr. Trussell has completed the appropriate course work to achieve the prestigious designation of Certified Physician Executive (CPE). Dr. Trussell is an active member of the American Hernia Society Quality Collaborative and the American Academy of Physician Leadership (AAPL).
Dr. Trussell has a special interest in managing complicated gastroesophageal reflux and is a trained specialist in placing the LINX device to remedy this sometimes debilitating disease. In addition, he has over a decade of experience in the minimally invasive treatment of colon diseases such as cancer and diverticulitis, morbid obesity, gallbladder, and small intestine diseases. He also has extensive experience and success with the removal of bothersome soft tissue and skin masses.
In addition to his clinical endeavors, Dr. Trussell has a passion for advancing his field through research, lecturing at medical conferences across the country, volunteering his clinical experience for medical mission trips across the globe, and serving locally as an Adjunct Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. Outside of work, Dr. Trussell enjoys golfing, running, swimming, and spending quality time with his wife and their three precious children.
