James Juhng, MD, is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care. He specializes in surgical critical care, trauma surgery, and acute care surgery. Dr. Juhng has a particular interest in the management of traumatic injuries involving the chest and abdomen. He is able to perform vascular access, resuscitative thoracotomy, emergent cricothyroidotomy, tracheostomy, diagnostic laparoscopy, splenectomy, colon resection, small bowel resection, laparoscopic and open cholecystectomy, laparoscopic and open appendectomy, laparoscopic and open inguinal, and ventral hernia repair procedures.
Dr. Juhng earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Texas at Dallas in Dallas, Texas. He then received a medical degree from the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas. Following medical school, Dr. Juhng completed general surgery residency at Wellspan York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. He completed fellowship training programs in trauma and acute care surgery and surgical critical care at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Juhng began practicing medicine in 2024. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Grace, who he credits for helping him become a better man, husband, and surgeon. Dr. Juhng can also be found cooking new recipes and trying out new restaurants in North Texas.
