About Hector E. Nazario, MD
Dr. Hector Nazario is the Chief of Division of Hepatology. He completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he served as assistant clinical professor for the hospital’s liver transplant center. Dr. Nazario then completed a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, followed by a transplant hepatology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Nazario specializes in the management of viral hepatitis, cholestatic and autoimmune liver diseases, complications of portal hypertension, cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, adult liver transplantation, medical complications after liver transplantation, and other gastrointestinal disorders.
He is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association, the American College of Gastroenterology, and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. Dr. Nazario participates in clinical research and is actively involved in teaching.
