Meet Chelsea Edwards

Chelsea Edwards is a board-certified advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) and certified family nurse practitioner (FNP-C) at Methodist Richardson Medical Center. For more than 30 years, she has worked in primary care, emergency medicine, hospital medicine, telehealth, and urgent care. She focuses on patient education, preventive medicine, and early intervention in her work to reduce long-term disease and improve lifelong health and wellness. 

Edwards chose family nursing as her specialty because she values building relationships with all members of a family. She listens to their concerns with integrity and compassion, providing personalized care based on the latest medical studies and innovation. She also works to connect vulnerable members of her community to the providers they need.

Edwards gained inspiration from nurse practitioners in her community in the 1980s, noting there weren’t many of them at the time. Now, in addition to her clinical practice, Edwards looks ahead by staying current with medical research and exploring emerging healthcare technologies.

Outside of nursing, Edwards enjoys solving crossword puzzles, garage sale shopping and bargain hunting, and engaging on social media. She loves spending time with her family — three children and two grandchildren — who she describes as her greatest source of pride and inspiration.
