About Brian J. Shea, MD
Brian Shea, MD, is a board certified general surgeon. He is a full-scope surgeon, but has a particular interest in advanced hernia repair, colorectal and gastrointestinal surgery, and bariatric surgery.
Dr. Shea earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He then received his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. Dr. Shea completed his surgical residency at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey. He went on to receive fellowship training in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery from University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
Although not originally from Texas, Dr. Shea moved to North Texas from Tennessee. He grew up in Edison, New Jersey, just 30 minutes outside of New York City. He has been in practice for 5 years.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Shea enjoys spending time with his wife, who is also a physician in pediatrics, their three children and family dog, Nash.
