These ranges are meant only to give you a general idea of what we charge for certain procedures. For an estimate of your out of pocket expense, please contact the facility financial counselor.

The chargemaster can be very confusing to patients, and we strongly encourage you to contact a facility financial counselor who can explain your insurance benefits and discounts that may apply to your specific hospital stay.

Where are the Methodist Dallas, Methodist Charlton, Methodist Mansfield, Methodist Richardson chargemasters located?  
Patients and Visitors may access the Methodist Health System chargemaster by visiting our website at methodisthealthsystem.org. The chargemaster is located under Preparing for Your Visit and then the Estimates and Charges tab. Any hospital financial counselor may provide a hospital estimate or help you access the chargemaster.  

How often is the chargemaster information updated?  
The chargemaster is updated annually as required by section 2718(e) of the Public Health Service Act, which was enacted as part of the Affordable Care Act.  

I don’t understand the charges you have published in the chargemaster. I cannot find any prices for my surgery.

Are you required to publish all items and services provided by the hospital?  
Yes, the current requirement states that all hospitals must provide a list of our current standard charges as reflected in the chargemaster. To help our patients, we have also included on our website the top ten procedures, services, and radiology tests. These charges do not include any insurance or uninsured discounts.   

Can I download a copy of the chargemaster?  
Yes, the chargemaster is in a format that can be easily exported. 

Where would I find a public list of the diagnosis related group standard charges? Each facility financial counselor can provide an estimate with a list of charges specific to diagnosis related groups (DRG). You may also review the Texas Price Point link located on our website under Estimates and Charges.  

Are physicians required to post their chargemaster?  
The CMS rule is specific to hospitals only. There are a few unique circumstances where a physician’s charge may be included in the chargemaster such as a hospital based clinic.
