A message from the PGY2 Program Director
Thank you for your interest in the ASHP-accredited PGY2 critical care pharmacy
residency program at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
As a pharmacy resident at

dedicated staff has an excellent rapport with physician, nursing, and
other interdisciplinary team members and is highly committed to providing
quality, evidence-based medication-related care for our patients.

services as a Level I Trauma center. Our residents are also given ample
teaching opportunities through our affiliations with several colleges
of pharmacy and our own PGY1 residency program.
We are excited to learn more about your interest in joining our team. After
exploring our site, if you have any additional questions, or if you would
like to arrange a tour of our facilities, please
contact us.
Sincerely,
Tamara Reiter, Pharm.D., BCCCP
PGY2 Critical Care Residency Program Director
Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Purpose
PGY2 pharmacy residency programs build upon Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.)
education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners
with knowledge, skills, and abilities as defined in the educational competency
areas, goals, and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who
successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced
patient care or other specialized positions, and board certification in
the advanced practice area, if available.
The PGY2 critical care residency program at Methodist Dallas Medical Center
produces graduates capable of practicing as clinical specialists in multiple
areas of adult critical care including medicine, surgery/trauma, and neurology.
Graduates will possess the ability to collaborate with other healthcare
providers and hospital leadership to optimize safe and effective drug
therapy. The program is designed to give the resident a structured core
of learning objectives with emphasis on the adult critically ill population.
