Methodist Names Chris Hawes as Vice President of Public Relations and Marketing

womanMethodist Health System has selected Chris Hawes as vice president of public relations and marketing. In this role, Hawes will create and direct all aspects of the integrated marketing and public relations programs for Methodist and its related facilities. Hawes begins her new role October 20.

“For the past several years, I have watched Methodist Health System remain committed to its core mission of improving and saving lives through compassionate quality health care while experiencing tremendous growth,” says Hawes. “I am inspired by the clinical excellence of its facilities and the vision of its leadership. I am honored to be a part of this dynamic team and look forward to finding new ways to ensure our stories are shared not only throughout North Texas, but across the nation.”

Before joining Methodist, Hawes was director of strategic communications and earned media for Medical City Dallas Hospital, Medical City Children’s Hospital, and the Medical City Children’s Hospital Urgent Care line of clinics. While under Hawes’ leadership, the marketing team experienced significant growth and success, including the creation of a children’s hospital mascot and brand refresh, launch of a quarterly magazine, exponential increase in earned media, and the creation and launch of a comprehensive digital marketing strategy. Prior to her work in health care, Hawes worked as a press secretary in Washington, DC, and enjoyed a successful 17-year career as a television broadcast journalist, which culminated as a senior reporter with WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas from 2006 to 2011.

“Chris’ expertise, experience, and enthusiasm make her a perfect fit for this important role,” said April Box Chamberlain, CFRE, senior vice president of external affairs, Methodist Health System, president and CEO, Methodist Health System Foundation. “We are proud to have a person of her distinguished qualifications lead our marketing and public relations efforts during this exciting time for Methodist.”
