Methodist Health System to Break Ground on New Patient Care Tower

$118 Million Methodist Mansfield New Patient Care Tower Bringing Jobs, Expanded Care to Community

Groundbreaking of Methodist Mansfield Medical Center’s New Patient Care Tower
Methodist Health System will celebrate the groundbreaking of a $118 M New Patient Care Tower for Methodist Mansfield Medical Center. The 118 bed, 110,000-square-foot tower will be located at the northwest corner of the existing building. The expansion will feature 34,000 square feet of additional operating rooms, cardiology and gastroenterology services and 64,000 square-feet of additional support services including lab, materials management, biomed, and sterile processing to name a few. The new tower will add more than 200 new jobs to the area and offer enhanced health care services to residents in Tarrant, Southeast Dallas, Johnson and Ellis counties. The new facility is scheduled to open in the fall of 2015.

WHY this is important:
Methodist Mansfield is one of the largest employers in Mansfield serving the communities of Arlington, Grand Prairie, Mansfield, Midlothian and beyond in Ellis and Johnson counties. It is also one of the largest employers in the area. The new patient bed tower brings an increase of beds and capacity for medical services in the southeastern sector. The patient care tower is part of a $118 million expansion project and investment in the community.

Speakers include: Levi Davis, Chairman of the Methodist Health System Board of Directors; John Phillips, FACHE, president, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center; US Congressman Joe Barton; Mansfield Mayor David Cook; Randall Canedy, chairman of the Methodist Mansfield community advisory board, Jenny Conrad chair building brighter, Shining Farther capital campaign.

Elected officials and civic and business leaders from Mansfield, Arlington, Grand Prairie, and Midlothian will also be present.
