Free Women's 'Heart to Heart' Event Feb. 22 at Methodist Charlton

heart to heartMethodist Charlton Medical Center’s annual Heart to Heart event will be a fun-filled occasion where women, their families, and friends are encouraged to stay heart healthy and improve their overall wellness. Get your pulse going with Zumba® demonstrations, nutrition talks, a heart-healthy cooking demo, and more. Plus, physicians will discuss all sorts of fun ways to keep your heart healthy and happy. There will be a health screening, giveaways, prizes, and much more. Executive Chef and Culinary Artist Chef Cassondra will lend her expertise to the event demonstrating how to prepare healthy meals while on the run.. Chef Cassondra tops the list as one of the Texas Chef's Move To School with First Lady Michelle Obama’s Obesity Initiative.

Heart to Heart will be held Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to Noon in the Methodist Charlton Medical Center Auditorium, located in the Outpatient Center. Health screenings will be offered from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and an RSVP is required.

The pre-event activities from 8 to 10 a.m. will be just as exciting. Bikini Athlete and Fitness Model Dianna Forsberg will share her journey to fitness; Cicily Nalani will provide a belly-dancing demonstration; Belinda LaCosta will discuss pH balancing, cancer and disease; and Chef Cassondra will provide healthy eating tips and samples. Pre-event activities also include expert bra-fitting and a fashion show by Dillard’s in Uptown Village at Cedar Hill.

Heart to Heart’s February date coincides both with Valentine’s Day, as well as with the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” initiative.
