Referring Transplant Patients

To refer a patient for a kidney or pancreas transplant, call us at
800-284-2185. To refer a patient for liver transplant, call
877-425-4837. We’ll fill you in on our guidelines for transplant patients and
required tests and exams. Some of these can be done at your office, and
we’ll do our best to use specialists in your area for other tests
when we can. Some tests will have to be conducted at The Transplant Institute
at Methodist Dallas.

If your patient passes this extensive prescreening medical evaluation,
he or she is approved for organ transplant, placed on the organ waiting
list, and returned to you for regular medical care.

Seamless Coordination With The Transplant Institute at Methodist Dallas

During and after the transplant, we’ll coordinate and communicate
with your office to help provide seamless transitions between transplant-related
and regular medical care. Though we’ll provide some of the follow-up
care, continuing long-term care remains in the hands of the patient’s
primary doctor.
