Orthopedic Conditions We Treat

Our team of orthopedic specialists treats a wide variety of conditions that cause pain and reduce mobility. We diagnose and treat issues affecting the structure of the joint, including the bones, ligaments, and tendons.

Conditions we treat include:

  • Acute traumatic injury caused by falls or accidents
  • Chronic (long-term) degenerative conditions like arthritis and osteoporosis
  • Congenital (present at birth) conditions including scoliosis and club foot
  • Inflammation, pain, and swelling
  • Sports-related injuries associated with accidents, overuse, or improper training

Orthopedic Treatments We Offer

At Methodist Charlton, the orthopedic team provides a full spectrum of nonsurgical and surgical options. We tailor treatment to your specific needs and goals to help you get back to your favorite activities, often without pain.

Treatments we offer include:

  • Bone realignment and ligament reconstruction
  • Casting and splinting for broken bones
  • Corticosteroid injections for pain and inflammation
  • Joint reconstruction and replacement
  • Orthotics, devices used to treat conditions of the feet, ankles, and legs
  • Partial and total joint repair
  • Physical therapy and occupational therapy
  • Prosthetics (both fitting and training)

Minimally Invasive and Robotic-Assisted Joint Replacement

Orthopedic surgeons at Methodist Charlton use the Robotic Surgical Assistant (ROSA) to perform minimally invasive partial and total joint replacement. Robotic assistance allows surgeons to place your implant with more precision, compared to traditional surgical techniques.

When combined with minimally invasive techniques, robotic assistance offers many benefits for joint reconstruction and replacement. Some of these benefits may include less pain and an easier and faster recovery, compared to open surgical techniques. ROSA Knee robotic technology assists your surgeon to plan and carry out a personalized surgery based on your unique anatomy.

No matter which kind of orthopedic procedure you need, you’ll have access to education and information before, during, and after any procedure. After your orthopedic treatment, you can count on our rehabilitation specialists to help get you up and active again — and help get you back to your regular life.
