DALLAS — Methodist Health System is proud to announce that The Leapfrog Group has awarded its highest safety ratings to four hospitals: Methodist Richardson, Methodist Charlton, Methodist Mansfield, and Methodist Southlake Medical Centers.
These hospitals earned "A" ratings from the independent hospital watchdog by improving outcomes and protecting patients from harm. The rating comes from a biannual survey that takes 22 evidence-based measures into account, including errors, accidents, injuries, and infections.
"Patient safety guides everything we do at Methodist,” said President and Chief Operating Officer Pam Stoyanoff, MBA, CPA, FACHE. “We're so proud of each 'A' we achieved this spring. It's an honor to see our commitment to protecting patients consistently recognized by Leapfrog."
The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the gold standard rating for patient safety, compiled under the guidance of the nation’s leading patient safety experts and administered by The Leapfrog Group, a national, independent nonprofit committed to driving quality, safety, and transparency in the U.S. health system.
“An 'A' Grade is a strong sign that Methodist is deeply committed to protecting patients from harm,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “We commend the leadership, Board, clinicians, staff and volunteers for the role each played in earning this distinction.”
