Methodist Midlothian Medical Center

Midlothian will soon have its first acute care hospital. The new 190,000 square-foot full-service acute care hospital is under construction west of U.S. 287 near the Midlothian ISD multi-purpose stadium. The $175-million facility will be the centerpiece of the 67-acre campus and will include a 45,000 square-foot medical office building.

Location: 1201 E. US Highway 287, a 67-acre site west of U.S. 287 near the Midlothian ISD multi-purpose stadium.

Official name: Methodist Midlothian Medical Center. This will be the 11th hospital to proudly carry the Methodist brand, as owners or through affiliation.

Technology: Methodist Midlothian will feature some of the latest in digital technology, making it a near-paperless hospital.

Employees: Approximately 675,000 person hours will be required to develop the site and construct the five-story hospital and three-story medical office building. Approximately 300 healthcare professionals and support staff members will be employed by the end of the first full year of operation.

Physicians: Independently practicing physicians will deliver care at the hospital.

Future: The medical center’s design, including shell space for additional patient rooms, will allow Methodist Midlothian to quickly grow with the community. The hospital is expected to grow to 80 beds in the first patient tower within three years.
