About Usha S. Mani, MD

Dr. Mani is board-certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is subspecialty trained in trauma and sports, with more than 20 years of experience.

In addition to treating acute fractures and dislocations of the pelvis/acetabulum (hip), upper and lower extremity, her elective specialty includes treating complications that arise from injuries (non-healing fractures, malunions, infections), limb salvage and reconstruction. Her clinical interests include percutaneous or less invasive operative techniques for the preservation of soft tissue attachments and the biology of fracture healing.

Dr. Mani has particular interests in the improvement of orthopaedic trauma care on a national level and is active in the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and Disaster Management Preparedness Committee. She has been prolific academically with numerous publications and presentations and has developed several innovative surgical techniques including arthroscopically assisted fracture care. She is a board examiner for the AAOS and AO North America teaching faculty. Dr. Mani has also served as assistant team physician for professional athletes, including the Philadelphia Phillies, U.S. Woman’s Olympic Gymnastic Team, Philadelphia Marathon, Philadelphia Wings, and NCAA Division I St Joseph’s University.
