About Umer Hashmi, MD

Umer Hashmi, MD, is a board-certified family medicine doctor focusing on preventive care and chronic disease. He has a particular interest in treating patients with diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Dr. Hashmi has practiced medicine since 2019 and joined Methodist Health System in 2022.

Dr. Hashmi became a physician to help prevent diseases that have long-term effects on overall health. He believes education about chronic conditions is vital to patient care. He strives to deliver it with every patient visit, focusing on treating the whole person, not just the disease.

Dr. Hashmi also believes in building relationships with patients across generations and advocating for patients. In addition to his medical expertise, Dr. Hashmi speaks Hindi and Urdu fluently.

Outside of the office, Dr. Hashmi enjoys playing basketball and traveling.
