About Susanna Avanesyan, MD
Susanna Avanesyan, MD, is a primary care physician who also has more than 17 years of experience as an infectious disease specialist. Dr. Avanesyan graduated from Yerevan State Medical University in Armenia with an honors diploma and full scholarship, and completed a Pediatric Infectious Diseases Residency. Following her graduation from residency, Dr. Avanesyan worked as an attending physician and clinical assistant professor for several years at NORK Infection Clinic Hospital in Armenia. During this time she also worked as a volunteer physician at the Armenia Ministry of Health and Armenian Missionary Association. Dr. Avanesyan later completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, New Jersey.
With an emphasis on patient-centered and comprehensive care, Dr. Avanesyan’s clinical interests include preventive medicine, and a variety of acute and chronic diseases in adult patients. Outside of work, Dr. Avanesyan enjoys playing piano, cooking, reading and spending time with her husband and two children. Dr. Avanesyan is also fluent in Armenian and Russian.
