About Steve L. Duffy, MD

Steve Duffy, MD, FACS, is a board certified general surgeon. He is a full-scope surgeon, but has a particular interest in advanced hernia repair and abdominal wall reconstruction, colorectal, gastrointestinal surgery and removal of skin and soft tissue lesions.

Dr. Duffy earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Texas at Dallas in Richardson, Texas. He then received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, where he graduated with honors. Dr. Duffy completed his surgical residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Duffy served 13 years in the military as a trauma and general surgeon before returning to civilian life as a Lieutenant Colonel. During his tenure, he served in Afghanistan and multiple humanitarian missions around the world. He is a certified Master Robotic Surgeon and a national instructor in advanced robotic techniques to other surgeons.

Dr. Duffy has been recognized by D Magazine as a Best Doctor for the past nine years. He has also been voted best surgeon in Allen, Celina, McKinney, and Prosper by Living Magazine for four consecutive years.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Duffy enjoys spending time with his wife, who was his high school sweetheart. They have one beautiful daughter together.
