About Miguel A. Hernandez, MD
Dr. Miguel A Hernandez III is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons with more than 25 years of experience serving the Dallas community. Fluent in Spanish, he specializes in shoulder, knee, and hip reconstruction, including robotic unicompartmental knee replacement and the anterior approach for hip replacement. He also offers advanced care for hand, elbow, and sports-related injuries.
Dr. Hernandez earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where he was a member of the Phi Beta Pi Medical Honor Fraternity and received honors in pediatric and general orthopedic rotations. He completed his orthopedic residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
An active member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopaedic Association, and the Alamo Orthopaedic Society, Dr. Hernandez has also served on the Dallas County Medical Society Review Board. He participates on multiple committees at Methodist Dallas Medical Center and Methodist Hospital for Surgery in Addison, and has held the role of presiding Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Methodist Dallas Medical Center.
