About Levi Rice, DO
Arkansas native, Levi Rice Jr., DO, MBA, FACC, is an interventional cardiologist who has served patients in the DFW area since 2015. Dr. Rice obtained his MBA in hospital and health administration at the University of Dallas Graduate School of Business. Following graduation, Dr. Rice earned his medical degree, completed an Internal Medicine Residency, as well as a General Cardiology Fellowship, from the University of North Texas Health Science Center - Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then pursed further specialized training through an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at St John’s Providence Health System Osteopathic Division – Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He is also trained in the Transradial Approach (wrist approach) for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
Board certified in internal medicine as well as general and interventional cardiology, Dr. Rice places a special emphasis on preventive cardiology to help target young to middle aged, or genetically high-risk populations, while also serving our geriatric community. Dr. Rice specializes in coronary and peripheral interventions, and primarily performs radial procedures, which most patients are very appreciative because of the comfort, convenience, and safety. Coronary treatments include angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, acute versus chronic chest pain management, placement of temporary left ventricular assist devices (Impella device) for high risk interventions or unstable hospitalized patient, and placement of EKOS device for acute pulmonary embolism or deep vein thrombosis. Peripheral interventions include both arterial and venous interventions for limb salvage or limb pain.
Dr. Rice also treats hypertension, coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease, peripheral vascular disease, venous insufficiency, palpitations, syncope, hyperlipidemia, and preoperative clearance. Outside of work, Dr. Rice enjoys playing basketball, listening to music, going fishing, learning to cook different foods, traveling, and spending time with his family.
