About Laurie Walters, FNP
Michigan native, Laurie Walters, NP, has over thirty years of experience working within the medical field, initially working as a registered nurse in the ICU and ER at the start of her career, and then later becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2010. Mrs. Walters completed her nursing degree from the Bronson Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Michigan, and her undergraduate degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University. After two decades of a very fulfilling career as a registered nurse, Mrs. Walters decided to pursue a Master’s degree in nursing from Texas Women’s University.
Certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Mrs. Walters treats patients with hypertension, chest pain, heart arrhythmias, coronary artery disease and peripheral vascular disease. Mrs. Walters has specialized training in conducting echocardiogram and nuclear stress tests, as well as interpreting results of echocardiographs, pacemakers, EKGs, peripheral ultrasounds, and cardiac monitors. She has worked with cardiologist Dr. Nhan Nguyen since 2010.
Outside of work, Mrs. Walters enjoys travel, playing the piano, reading, bicycling, and spending time with her husband and their adult children. Mrs. Walters’ next adventure will be embarking on a bike and boat tour exploring the Netherlands.
