About Andrew B. Standerwick, MD

Cedar Hill native Dr. Andrew Standerwick, MD, is a minimally invasive general surgeon who has been in practice since 2013. Dr. Standerwick graduated Summa Cum Laude with his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas, and later earned his medical degree from UT Southwestern Medical School. Following graduation, Dr. Standerwick completed his residency at Oklahoma University Medical Center, and then pursued specialized training through his fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Summa Health Akron in Ohio.

Certified by the American Board of Surgery, Dr. Standerwick specializes in weight-loss surgeries, including Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, and revision surgery.

He also performs a wide variety of procedures, focusing on those involving the abdomen and related organs. He has a particular interest in hiatal hernias, inguinal hernias, anti-reflux surgery, and he has been trained using minimally invasive techniques that reduce pain and recovery time.
