About Nasser Khan, MD
A. Nasser Khan, MD, FACC, FSCAI, FRCP, is an interventional cardiologist with over 17 years of experience. He is the Program Director of Cardiovascular Fellowship Program and the Medical Director of Cardiology at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Dr. Khan graduated from Dhaka Medical College in Bangladesh. Following graduation, Dr. Khan completed his Internal Medicine Residency from the University of Chicago at Weiss Memorial Hospital where he was selected to serve one more year as the Chief Resident. He then pursued specialized training through his Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship from the University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida.
Dr. Khan treats patients with coronary artery disease, heart attack, heart valve disease, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and heart failure. He has a special interest in coronary and structural heart disease. He performs multiple procedures including coronary balloon and stenting, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR), patent foramen ovale (PFO) closure, transesophageal echocardiograms and loop recorder placement. He is also experienced in MitraClip procedure and placing ECMO and Impella devices.
Throughout his professional career, Dr. Khan has been actively involved in teaching, clinical research, and improving patient care through collaboration with his colleagues. As a recognition to his contribution for improving quality, safety, and patient care, Dr. Khan received the "From the Heart" award from the American Heart Association in 2019. He was voted "Subspecialty Faculty of the Year" by medical residents in 2023 and 2024. He is board certified in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and nuclear cardiology.
Dr. Khan is passionate about the advancement of medicine all around the world. He is currently a board member of a voluntary physician organization that arranges training sessions for young physicians in developing countries. Outside of work, Dr. Khan enjoys biking, exercising, traveling, reading, and spending time with his wife and their two children. Dr. Khan is fluent in English and Bengali.
