Baby-Friendly Designated Birth Facility
Methodist Dallas is the first hospital in Dallas to receive the Baby-Friendly Designated birth facility from Baby-Friendly USA. Based on the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, this designation recognizes birth facilities that offer breastfeeding mothers the information, confidence, and skills needed to successfully initiate and continue breastfeeding their babies.
Aetna Award for Early Elective Delivery Infant Safety ProgramsTexas Ten Step Facilities for Breastfeeding Care and Support
Methodist Dallas, Methodist Charlton, and Methodist Mansfield have been designated Texas Ten Step Hospitals by the Texas Department of State Health Services for encouraging breastfeeding as the preferred method of feeding for newborns and infants.
Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton have met qualifications for recognition by Aetna for their Early Elective Delivery Infant Safety program for facilities that have demonstrated their commitment to infant safety by establishing safety guidelines for elective deliveries prior to 39 weeks and have implemented a quality improvement program.
IBCLC Care Award for Excellence in Lactation Care
Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton have been recognized for excellence in lactation care, for the second consecutive year, by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE) and International Lactation Consultant Association (ILCA).
Premier Award for Quality in Maternal & Neonatal Care
Methodist Dallas Medical Center was one of only three winners nationwide from a pool of nearly 400 eligible hospitals for excellence in both quality of care and operational efficiency.
Mammography, women's imaging, and gynecologic surgery
Texas law prohibits hospitals from practicing medicine. The physicians on the Methodist Health System medical staff are independent practitioners who are not employees or agents of Methodist Health System.
