Pancreatic Program

Pancreatic Care Team at Methodist Dallas

The Pancreatic Care Team at Methodist Dallas

Communication, care, and compassion

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is the first hospital in the nation awarded certification by The Joint Commission for pancreatic surgery and the first in Texas awarded certification for pancreatic cancer. At Methodist Dallas, pancreatic cancer patients are cared for by a multidisciplinary team. This collaborative approach to care for pancreatic cancer begins with the coordinated efforts of a highly trained, independently practicing medical staff who have years of experience in treating complex pancreatic cancer cases, and may include:

  • Gastroenterologists
  • Surgeons
  • Medical and radiation oncologists
  • Radiologists
  • Pathologists
  • Hospitalists

Physicians meet with nurses including a palliative care nurse and oncology nurse coordinators and navigators to discuss your treatment options. Throughout your care, the nurse navigator will meet with you and your family to discuss your case and treatment options and to guide you through the information and decisions that need to be made regarding treatment.
