Mammograms on the go
Screening mammograms are one of the best tools used in the early detection of breast cancer. To help make these essential tests convenient for the women in the communities we serve, Methodist Health System takes its technologists and imaging equipment on the road.
The Methodist Health System mobile mammography unit brings advanced breast cancer screening technology along with a friendly, all-female technologist staff to:
- Community centers
- Other North Texas locations
The Methodist mobile mammography unit is accredited by the American College of Radiology and certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Support for mobile mammography
In 2013, Methodist's commitment to fighting breast cancer was recognized with its largest grant to date from Susan G. Komen® Dallas County. Komen Dallas County has supported Methodist's breast health services for underserved women for 13 years, allowing Methodist to provide mammography and breast health services to more than 6,200 women.
The grant, along with support from the Methodist Hospitals of Dallas Guild, the Methodist Dallas Medical Center Auxiliary, and Bradie James' Foundation 56, helps to provide support screening and diagnostic breast imaging services, education for uninsured and underserved patients through Methodist's mobile mammography program, as well as the Women's Imaging Centers at Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton.
